FreeFlow.news
A personalized news reader -- designed, built, and live in 5 days

The Challenge
The founder wanted a clean, distraction-free way to stay on top of news without algorithmic noise or ad-heavy interfaces. Existing readers were cluttered, slow, or locked behind paywalls. They needed something fast, focused, and customizable -- light mode, dark mode, system-matched themes, and settings that persist across sessions.
Our Process
Mapped the core reading experience: aggregation from multiple sources, smart categorization, and a distraction-free layout built for scanning and deep reading.
Built a responsive frontend with full theme customization -- light, dark, and system-matched modes -- plus persistent reader settings stored via LocalStorage so preferences carry across sessions.
Integrated news source APIs for real-time aggregation with category filtering, letting readers zero in on the topics they care about without the noise.
Polished the UX for speed: fast load times, minimal layout shift, and a typography-first design that puts the content front and center.
